Reaching out to Catholic/Christians Individuals/Families

Make me a Channel of Your Peace by Florence D’Costa

There are many in this world who are very unhappy and who feel that life has no meaning and they want to end their lives by committing suicide. Some people also because of their tremendous suffering and pain also want to end their lives … There is life after death and through suffering we can attain heaven. When we lose patience and want to commit suicide or when we try to ask someone’s else is to end our lives, we are surely heading off in the wrong direction – Euthanasia is VERY WRONG…..

The Holy Spirit is Gentle – He stirs us – Respond to Him

Yes, Our strength will last.  We will wait upon the Lord.  Yes Our God is everlasting and Yes, He reigns FOREVER.  What do we have to fear? Come Holy Spirit, gentle and kind. Come and stir within our hearts.  Bring down with you, Your Peace and Your Deliverance.  Make us strong Lord. Let us not grow weary.  Stir in our hearts, O Holy Spirit and help us accomplish Our Heavenly Father’s Will.  Many of us waiting for tomorrows to EVANGELISE because we think we need a lot of money to evangelise.  Lord, all we need is YOU.  We are rich in you Lord!  Come Lord, Jesus Christ and make it possible.

Peace is flowing like a River

Yes, Peace is flowing like a river, setting all the captives free. When we are peace with the Lord and we are basking
in God’s Glory, let us remember those who are disturbed, unhappy and who have lost all hope.

It is important for us to remember that what we receive freely, freely we must give to others. Every individual in life’s journey experience or have desert experiences. Either we feel that the absence of God in our lives, or we feel that He is silent or that He has abandoned us.

I have something important that I would like to share with you. Remember that Christ lives in us and we live in Him, so where is the question of Him being absent or silent in our lives. It is important for us to remember that He is near to us and in the silence, let us listen to His heartbeat. His heartbeat would tell us that He is near and that His peace is flowing like a river.

Christ is calling us to have faith, to have patience and more importantly to believe that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God is our Father and Jesus Christ is His Son and we are all brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. Will a Father desert his son. Will a mother desert her baby, Yes, even if they desert, God will not abandon His children. He never does. In a family, we are sometimes silent. Does that mean that we do not love our family members. No. In like manner, if God is silent at times, just remember that He is holding you in His arms. At this time, it is important to listen to His Heartbeat and believe me, you will experience something awesome and wonderful. Silence is sometimes important………

Now, for those of us who are experiencing His nearness, we should then be agents of His Peace. We should share the Peace that is with us and allow that peace to flow out to others, to those around us, so that they would not feel abandoned or lonely but would feel the Peace of Christ in their hearts.

So my brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus, be His Agents of Peace – Take Christ’s peace to those who are struggling to find Peace.

LET US PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER THAT THE PEACE OF CHRIST WHO DWELLS IN OUR HEARTS WOULD FLOW OUT TO OTHERS TO SET THEM FREE.

How Beautiful Is the Passion of Christ – Lyrics

By Florence D’Costa – My dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, my plea to you during this Lenten Season is to RETURN TO CHRIST.  Each and every one of us have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.  No one can say,”I am without sin.”  Jesus Christ suffered so much humiliation, pain, torment and was betrayed by one of his own disciples. SIN IS UGLY and it is important for us to walk away from Sin and Ugliness.  Jesus Christ is Beautiful, for though He was man, He was also God.

During this Lenten Season, Christ Jesus is calling us to walk away from sin and to walk into His arms.  It is very important for each of us to examine our conscience every night and to Say A Sorry Prayer or an Act of Contrition before we go to bed.  Many of us also commit sins of Omission.  There are many things that God is calling us to do but we simply turn a blind eye to.

Christ Jesus is inviting us to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation during this Lenten Season so that our minds, hearts and souls would be purified.  Prayer is having a Conversation or a meeting with Christ Jesus.  Why not make it a point to meet Him everyday for awhile? Let us try to MAKE A COMPLETE TURN AROUND AND WALK TOWARDS HIM. Let us look into His eyes and say, “I am sorry Jesus for hurting you and for sinning against you. Please do forgive me.”  If we do say this simple prayer, we will surely receive enough grace to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is so very important, for the sins that we confess will surely be forgiven and a GREAT PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING WILL DESCEND INTO OUR HEARTS.

As I am a Catechist, many children have told me that they are afraid to go for confession because they feel that the priest will have a bad opinion of them when they confess their sins to him.  So, I told them to confess their sins to the priest whom they trust, not that any priest would regard you as bad or label you as a SINNER.  I also told them that in the Confessional, Jesus Christ and the priest awaits them and that it is JESUS CHRIST WHO FORGIVES SINS and the priest gives them absolution.

I ask the children as to how they feel if they commit sins and they said that they feel unhappy when they sin.  So I told them that it is important for them to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation for Jesus Christ would forgive them their sins through the Priest and that once forgiven, they would be HAPPY ONCE AGAIN.

So, my dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, what is stopping you FROM BEING FORGIVEN?  WHAT IS STOPPING YOU FROM OBTAINING HAPPINESS?

Even if you have not gone for Confession in years, say 10, 20, 30 or 40 years, the time has come for you to BE FORGIVEN AND TO EXPERIENCE THE CLOSENESS OF JESUS CHRIST.  Try approaching the Sacrament of Reconciliation and you will find that the burden that you have been carrying for a long time, will be taken away by Jesus Christ and He will place HIS PEACE IN YOUR HEART.

PLEASE DO GIVE IT A TRY.  GO FOR CONFESSION AND THEN RECEIVE THE BODY OF CHRIST WHEN YOU GO FOR MASS.  YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE ON TOP OF THE WORLD.

I do remember the words of this Song.  It is a Pop Song but we can sing this Song to Jesus Christ. The words are :

I am on the top of the World looking
Down on Creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the Love that I found
Ever since you’ve been around
Your Love puts me
At the top of the World!

Well, Jesus Christ can put each one of us ON TOP OF THE WORLD and give us PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING.

LOVE = THE CROSS

We are in the Season of Lent – It is a time to contemplate LOVE ON THE CROSS.  Today, let us simply sit quietly and look at the Cross. What do we see?  We see Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God and Man, hanging from a tree, INNOCENT AND SINLESS.

We see :

  •          OBEDIENCE,
  •          LOVE,
  •          WILLINGNESS TO GIVE UP HIS LIFE FOR LOVE OF US.
  •           SUFFERING
  •           ONE WHO WAS CONDEMNED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE
  •           HE ONLY DID GOOD FOR HIS PEOPLE
  •           THE BLINDNESS OF THOSE WHO PERSECUTED HIM
  •           GREAT HUMILIATION. HE WAS LAUGHED AND SCORNED AT.
  •            FORGIVENESS –  “FORGIVE THEM FATHER FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO”
  •            THE PLAQUE AT THE TOP OF THE CROSS – “THE KING OF THE JEWS”
  •            HE IS MORE THAN A KING.  HE IS THE KING OF KINGS.
  •            HIS NAIL PIERCED HANDS AND FEET.
  •            WE SEE THE SON OF MAN’S LASHED AND WOUNDED BODY.
  •             LOVE FOR HIS MOTHER WHEN HE GAVE HIS MOTHER TO JOHN.

What is Jesus Christ saying to each one of us from the Cross :

  •              I LOVE YOU.  I WILLINGLY DIED FOR YOU.
  •              I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME IN RETURN AND TO LIVE FOREVER WITH ME IN PARADISE.
  •               IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO CARRY YOUR CROSS EVERYDAY AND FOLLOW ME
  •               EVERY INDIVIDUAL DOES HAVE PROBLEMS AND DIFFICULTIES.
  •               I WILL GIVE YOU GRACE AND I WILL PROTECT YOU.
  •               I WILL CARRY YOU ON MY SHOULDERS WHEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO CARRY ON.                      YOU WILL THEN SEE ONLY ONE SET OF FOOT PRINTS ON THE SAND AND THOSE WOULD BE MINE.
  •                DO NOT BE AFRAID FOR I AM WITH YOU TILL THE END OF TIME.
  •                I HAVE WON THE BATTLE AGAINST EVIL AS I AM ALIVE – I AM THE RESURRECTED LORD.  I HAD TO DIE SO THAT I WOULD RISE VICTORIOUSLY.
  •                I AM A WINNER AND SO ARE YOU.  BUT YOU MUST BE READY TO ACCEPT SUFFERING IN THIS LIFE.
  •                I WILL GIVE YOU A CROWN IN THE NEXT LIFE AND FOR EVERY SUFFERING THERE I WILL PLACE A PRECIOUS STONE IN YOUR CROWN.
  •                IF YOU LOVE ME AND ARE HAPPY TO ACCEPT YOUR SUFFERING AND PAINS, THE JOYS THAT YOU WOULD EXPERIENCE WITH ME IN HEAVEN WILL BE INDESCRIBABLE.
  •                 FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE TEMPTED TO WALK THE BROAD ROAD OF SIN, I APPEAL TO YOU TO TURN AROUND AND COME BACK TO ME.  THE BROAD ROAD LEADS TO HELL AND DAMNATION.
  •                  SUFFERING CLEANSES, PURIFIES AND DRAWS YOU CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ME FOR I AM THE RESURRECTED  LORD.
  •                  AS YOU COME CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ME, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE  LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FORBEARANCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL, PATIENCE, CHARITY, GENEROSITY AND CHASTITY.  I WILL CAUSE  ALL THE FRUITS OF MY HOLY SPIRIT WHICH YOU RECEIVED IN CONFIRMATION TO SURFACE AND BECOME VIBRANT IN YOU.
  •                  MY DEAR PEOPLE, I LOVE YOU.  COME BACK TO ME AND MY FATHER WILL PROTECT YOU UNDER HIS WING.

MY ARMS ARE OUTSTRETCHED WAITING FOR YOU TO COME BACK INTO MY EMBRACE.

MY EMBRACE IS HEAVEN.  MY EMBRACE IS GRACE.  MY EMBRACE IS A HAVEN.  IN MY EMBRACE YOU WILL BE SAFE ON THIS EARTH AND IN THE NEXT.

COME BACK MY PEOPLE – COME TASTE AND SEE!!!!!!

Let There be Peace on Earth

Matthew 5:9  “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 20:19  On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them,  “Peace be with you.”

Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

There are a few scriptural quotes on PEACE. It is very necessary for every individual to have Peace in mind, soul and body, so let us begin from today to be Agents of God’s Peace.

St Elizabeth of Portugal – July 4, 2012

St. Elizabeth of Portugal

Feast Day: July 04
Born: 1271 :: Died:1336

Elizabeth was a Spanish princess and the daughter of Constantia and King Pedro III of Aragon. She was named after her great-aunt St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Elizabeth was beautiful and very lovable. She was well brought up and went to Mass every day. When she was just twelve, she married King Denis of Portugal. So she became Queen Elizabeth of Portugal when she was not even a teenager. She was a charming wife and her husband was fond of her at first, but soon he began to cause her great suffering.Though a good ruler, he did not have his wife’s love of prayer and virtue. In fact, his sins of impurity were a disgrace and well-known throughout his kingdom.St. Elizabeth tried to be a loving mother to her children, Prince Alphonso and Princess Constance. She was also generous and loving with the people of Portugal and spent time helping the sick and the poor.Even though her husband was unfaithful, she prayed that God would change his heart. Elizabeth trusted God and refused to become bitter and angry. She strengthened her own prayer life and followed the Franciscan spirituality.A little by little, the king was moved by her patience and good example. He began to live better. He apologized to his wife and showed her greater respect. In his last sickness the queen never left his side, except for Mass. King Denis died on January 6, 1325.He was very sorry for his sins and his death was peaceful. This gentle woman was also a peacemaker between members of her own family and between nations. She rode out into the battlefield and was able to prevent war on two occasions.

After the king died Elizabeth gave her wealth to the poor and joined the lay Franciscan order. There she started the monastery of the Poor Clares, living a life of poverty, performing loving acts of charity and penance. She was a wonderful model of kindness toward the poor.

St. Elizabeth of Portugal died on July 4, 1336 of a fever. After her death, many miracles took place at her tomb.

Reflection: “If you love peace, all will be well.’ St Elizabeth
