Thy Word is a Lamp Unto my Feet – Lyrics

The Word of God guides us and teaches us Shows us the path that God wants us to take.  We need to pray and discern God’s Holy Will.  Sometimes, we might think that what we are doing is what God wants us to do.  It is important for each of the faithful to sit quietly at the  Feet of Jesus.  Sit before the Blessed Sacrament, spend some quiet time with Him every day.  When you learn to sit quietly at His Feet, Read the Word of God, you will find that Jesus Christ will speak to you through His Words.  God speaks to us through Scripture and it is extremely important for us to meditate on His Word.  Become One with Him through His Word and through the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament and you can be sure that the Holy Spirit of God will lead you.

LOVE = THE CROSS

We are in the Season of Lent – It is a time to contemplate LOVE ON THE CROSS.  Today, let us simply sit quietly and look at the Cross. What do we see?  We see Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God and Man, hanging from a tree, INNOCENT AND SINLESS.

We see :

  •          OBEDIENCE,
  •          LOVE,
  •          WILLINGNESS TO GIVE UP HIS LIFE FOR LOVE OF US.
  •           SUFFERING
  •           ONE WHO WAS CONDEMNED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE
  •           HE ONLY DID GOOD FOR HIS PEOPLE
  •           THE BLINDNESS OF THOSE WHO PERSECUTED HIM
  •           GREAT HUMILIATION. HE WAS LAUGHED AND SCORNED AT.
  •            FORGIVENESS –  “FORGIVE THEM FATHER FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO”
  •            THE PLAQUE AT THE TOP OF THE CROSS – “THE KING OF THE JEWS”
  •            HE IS MORE THAN A KING.  HE IS THE KING OF KINGS.
  •            HIS NAIL PIERCED HANDS AND FEET.
  •            WE SEE THE SON OF MAN’S LASHED AND WOUNDED BODY.
  •             LOVE FOR HIS MOTHER WHEN HE GAVE HIS MOTHER TO JOHN.

What is Jesus Christ saying to each one of us from the Cross :

  •              I LOVE YOU.  I WILLINGLY DIED FOR YOU.
  •              I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME IN RETURN AND TO LIVE FOREVER WITH ME IN PARADISE.
  •               IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO CARRY YOUR CROSS EVERYDAY AND FOLLOW ME
  •               EVERY INDIVIDUAL DOES HAVE PROBLEMS AND DIFFICULTIES.
  •               I WILL GIVE YOU GRACE AND I WILL PROTECT YOU.
  •               I WILL CARRY YOU ON MY SHOULDERS WHEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO CARRY ON.                      YOU WILL THEN SEE ONLY ONE SET OF FOOT PRINTS ON THE SAND AND THOSE WOULD BE MINE.
  •                DO NOT BE AFRAID FOR I AM WITH YOU TILL THE END OF TIME.
  •                I HAVE WON THE BATTLE AGAINST EVIL AS I AM ALIVE – I AM THE RESURRECTED LORD.  I HAD TO DIE SO THAT I WOULD RISE VICTORIOUSLY.
  •                I AM A WINNER AND SO ARE YOU.  BUT YOU MUST BE READY TO ACCEPT SUFFERING IN THIS LIFE.
  •                I WILL GIVE YOU A CROWN IN THE NEXT LIFE AND FOR EVERY SUFFERING THERE I WILL PLACE A PRECIOUS STONE IN YOUR CROWN.
  •                IF YOU LOVE ME AND ARE HAPPY TO ACCEPT YOUR SUFFERING AND PAINS, THE JOYS THAT YOU WOULD EXPERIENCE WITH ME IN HEAVEN WILL BE INDESCRIBABLE.
  •                 FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE TEMPTED TO WALK THE BROAD ROAD OF SIN, I APPEAL TO YOU TO TURN AROUND AND COME BACK TO ME.  THE BROAD ROAD LEADS TO HELL AND DAMNATION.
  •                  SUFFERING CLEANSES, PURIFIES AND DRAWS YOU CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ME FOR I AM THE RESURRECTED  LORD.
  •                  AS YOU COME CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ME, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE  LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FORBEARANCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL, PATIENCE, CHARITY, GENEROSITY AND CHASTITY.  I WILL CAUSE  ALL THE FRUITS OF MY HOLY SPIRIT WHICH YOU RECEIVED IN CONFIRMATION TO SURFACE AND BECOME VIBRANT IN YOU.
  •                  MY DEAR PEOPLE, I LOVE YOU.  COME BACK TO ME AND MY FATHER WILL PROTECT YOU UNDER HIS WING.

MY ARMS ARE OUTSTRETCHED WAITING FOR YOU TO COME BACK INTO MY EMBRACE.

MY EMBRACE IS HEAVEN.  MY EMBRACE IS GRACE.  MY EMBRACE IS A HAVEN.  IN MY EMBRACE YOU WILL BE SAFE ON THIS EARTH AND IN THE NEXT.

COME BACK MY PEOPLE – COME TASTE AND SEE!!!!!!

The Church Alive – New Evangelisation!

THE YEAR OF FAITH!

My Dear Friends/Readers,

We do not have to worry about anything else that people tell us.  It is the Year of  Faith declared by our dear Pope Benedict XVI.  Take up your bibles – Everyday, read the Daily Readings – Meditate on the Readings and the Gospel.  Look up for Catholic Sites that give authentic Catholic Teachings and do not worry about anything else that confuses you.

Let us give Glory to Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Let our first priority be to know our religion so that we can go forth and be able to defend our faith, to stand our ground and more importantly to PROCLAIM OUR FAITH/JESUS CHRIST TO ALL THOSE WHOM WE MEET.

Are We Communicating with God – A Reminder to Prayer.

A Reminder to Pray!

This morning I went for Mass and I went early for Mass.  For those of us who can go to daily Mass, I think we should make that added effort to not only go for Mass but to be there on time.  We should pray the Mass devoutly and receive Holy Communion in the State of Grace.  In Holy Communion Jesus Christ comes to dwell in our hearts.  He comes to give us strength to live the day accordingly to the Will of Our Heavenly Father.

It is very important to remember that when we communicate with Our Heavenly Father, we pray through Jesus Christ His Son and by the Power of the Holy Spirit. We, on our own do not have the power to pray and call God, Our Father without the Holy Spirit.

To have a relationship with God, we must pray (communicate with Him.)  Personal Prayer is very important – atleast once a day.  We can pray the daily readings of the Mass and meditate or we can read the gospel of the day and meditate.  God speaks through His word.  For spiritual strength, it is important for us to read and meditate on His word.  We make sure that we do not skip a meal because if we do, then we will go hungry and our bodies would become weak.  In like manner, it is absolutely important for us to read and study God’s word.  His word is food for our soul.  If we do not read and meditate on God’s word, we would remain ignorant to what God wants us to do and our soul would become sick.

My dear people, if an individual wants to be healthy and strong in mind, soul and body and draw closer to God who help them in their difficulties and be present in their joys, that individual should read God’s word and meditate.

I am sure that you are aware of what happens when we eat food.  We chew the food and when we swallow the same, it travels to the stomach where it is digested and then distributed to all parts of the body, thus strengthening our body.

Let me explain what happens when we hear the Word of God being read or when we read His Holy word.  When we hear the word of God being read, the word enters through our ear and travels down to our hearts.  The Word of God is alive and active. When the word of God reaches our hearts, the word that is alive begins to work in our hearts.  The spiritual energy is then used to take us closer to God and to our neighbour.  The love for God, for ourselves and our neighbour begins to grow in our hearts.  When we look at others, we begin to see others through the eyes of Christ Jesus and our whole life has a New Meaning.  We now know that we have a mission to love God and serve God with our whole being and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.  We then begin to act like our Master, Our Lord Jesus Christ and we begin a live of love, charity and mercy.

We can pick any time of the day that is convenient for us to pray personal prayer.  Now there is something else that I would like to add here.  When we are really and truly in love with someone – what do we do.  We think of them constantly and if we could we would try to communicate with them often during the day.  In like manner we are all called to fall in love with God – The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit – The One Triune God.  When we are in love with God, we will constantly keep in touch with Him.  We would think of Him constantly and we would do His Holy Will.

So my dear people try your best not to miss one day without having personal prayer.

God’s Love is Free!

Sometimes Life deals us a blow and we are stunned and then we ask ourselves, “Why me, Lord?” “Why did you choose me to suffer thus?” We then begin to question God’s love for us. We think to ourselves that we have been so faithful to God and we are not able to understand why God has allowed a tragedy into our lives.  A tragedy could be as follows :

  • The loss of a loved one.
  • Great Financial Loss in a business.
  • Shocking and sad news when the Doctor tells either a family member, or our friend or even us that we have a disease or sickness that is incurable or that we cannot have a baby.
  • Maybe when we suddenly feel lonely and deserted and think that there is nobody in this world who cares for us.

Each individual or family at sometime or the other faces tragedies in their lives.  For each individual or families, tragedies vary and are different.  The question now is, how do we behave when we are confronted with tragedies.

  • Do we give in to our sorrow and have a ‘Pity Party?’
  • Do we take to drinking and getting drunk.
  • Do we rebel against God?
  • Do we indulge in food?
  • Do we become housebound – Meaning afraid to leave our homes and afraid to meet people?
  • Do we stop praying and believing in a Great and Loving God?

I can go on and on.  As you read this article, you will know the situation you are in or maybe a family member or a friend or an acquaintance?

My dear people, I think it is time that we get down on our knees and pray to this Wonderful and Awesome God, who created us because His love for us is so great.  A God who sent His only begotten son to die for each one of us so that we would have new and everlasting life.

Lent is a Season for us to spend sometime to think of all our blessings and to thank God for every single blessing that He has given us so freely.  We do not have to pay for His blessings.  He has given blessings to us freely.  We must pray constantly and rejoice that we have a Great Big God like Our God and that there is no other like Him.  We must sing and dance and praise God.m  When we are happy in God’s presence, He will give us the strength and courage to handle problems, worries and tragedies that come our way.

Everything that we have does not belong to us.  God has lent everything that we have.  So, when it is time for God to take away from us, things that belongs to Him but that which He has only lent us, who are we to question Him.

So, my dear people, let us enjoy all the things that God has so generously given us.  From this m0ment on, let us make a decision to be kind and generous to those whom we work with, live with – our neighbours, our relatives, our friends, our parishioners etc.  When we open our mouths to speak, may we be gentle with our words and actions.  May we do unto people what we would like done to ourselves.

I think, it is time for each one of us to spend some quiet time in front of the Blessed Sacrament and pray that Christ Jesus will make us kind people.  That Christ would transform us during this Lent so that we would be Christlike.  Before we wound or humilate anybody, may we stop and think, ‘What would Christ do in this situation?  I would like to remind you that it is always very important before we do anything, it is always good to think, ‘What would Christ Jesus do in this situation?’

Now that we have meditated for a while. What do you think Christ Jesus is telling? Have a book or a diary and write down the messages that Christ Jesus is giving you. It is good to record these messages.

This is what Christ Jesus is telling me:

‘My dear Florence, I love you very, very much. Your smile warms my heart. When I see you on your knees in prayer, especially when you are in church, I come to your side and I sit beside you and I hold you in my arms. I whisper in your ear that I love you and when I look into your heart, I can see your great love for me, my Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit and I am pleased.
Continue to love me, my child and continue to love those around you and your enemies as well. When I look into your heart, I see so much of love for your enemies and for those who hurt you and this love of yours is like a balm for the wounds that I got during my passion. Continue to love all those around you with the Love of My Father which He has so generously poured into your heart. You are rich because of the love we have poured into your heart. Give Our love generously to those around you, because they need it and we will replenish you with Our Love.”

I am so happy to hear Christ Jesus speak so lovingly to me. I many times wonder, what did I do, to deserve Christ’s love. Well, I have done nothing to deserve His love. His love is free.

If you want to continue to meditate on God’s Love, I invite you to do so now.
