Reaching out to Catholic/Christians Individuals/Families

Domestic Church by Florence D’Costa

Jesus, Mary and Joseph – The Holy Family and their home was a Domestic Church.  St Joseph was Obedient to God.  He protected Mary and Jesus and kept them safe. St Joseph and Mary taught their son, Jesus scripture. Joseph taught Jesus to be a Carpenter. Their life was not easy.  They went through a lot of danger but St Joseph always protected them.  Such a wonderful and Holy Family.  For those who need protection, jobs, a foster father and for other favours, should seek St Joseph in prayer. Why? Because Jesus would not refuse His Foster Father anything.

This is a picture of a modern day family.  Here we see a father praying with his BAPTISED children.  The baptised : 1 Cor. 6:19 “Don’t you realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself”. He is teaching them scripture and helping them to pray at home.  What is the role of parents in a Catholic household. They are called to pray with their children.  Teach them the Word of God because God dwells in His Word.  Christ is the Word.  Teach them right from wrong, the right values in life and the Ten Commandments. Pray the Rosary, Divine Mercy Rosary and other Catholic prayers.  Teach them to be Catholic Christian.  More importantly teach them to love Christ because He is the Way, the Truth and the life. “John 4:Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The two greatest commandments of Christ are : love God first and love your neighbour as yourself.  When you teach your children to love God, your home becomes a DOMESTIC CHURCH.

I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. Every baptised should strive towards perfection and holiness. 2. God dwells in His word. The family love and worship God at home (Domestic Church).  Every member of the family should strive towards perfection and holiness.
3. The families are waiting to go to their parishes, where Christ dwells in the Tabernacle. Every Member of the Community should strive towards Perfection and holiness.

Baptised as a Catholic by Florence D’Costa

On the day of my Baptism, I became :

  1.    A Catholic
  2.    A Child of God
  3.    A Temple of the Holy Spirit
  4.    A Light of the World
  5.    Salt of the earth
  6.    God gave me a MISSION to make Him Known and Loved.

We should ask ourselves a few questions?  What have I done as a Child of God.  Have I loved my Father in Heaven.  Have I thanked Him for all that He has given me all of my life.  Now in these days of Coronavirus, where the air is infected, can we at least now get down on our knees and thank God for the free air that He has given us all these years; for the jobs, for the food, for our health and strength, for the peace, joy, for family, friends, for our Pope, priests, religious and for our benefactors.

Let us spend some time in thought, prayer, repentance and thanksgiving.

God is my Friend, He calls me Friend!

God is Holy. He is my friend and He loves me. How blessed am I? How blessed are we? God is smiling on each one of us and He has got a lot of blessings in store for each one of us. He is waiting for us to believe, for when we believe and have total faith in God, it is only then that God will be able to pour out all His blessings on each one of us.

When we get down on our knees and pray, we must believe that Christ Jesus is with us and He does have a lot of special blessings for each of us. When we believe, we receive. Christ Jesus said, ‘If you have faith as big as a grain of a mustard see, when you say to the mountain, move, it will move.’ What are the mountains in each of our lives. What is blocking us from being happy and contented. If we have faith, we could say to these mountains or problems in our lives and it will move and go away. But we must trust in Our Friend Jesus Christ who is Our Lord and Saviour.

At the sound of God’s name, Angels will bow because God is great and majestic. So what is stopping us from believing in God’s great majesty. We must believe in God’s greatness and we must also join the angels and bow with them at the sound of God’s name. There is no one like our God and we must sing His praise Him. We must hold onto our God. We must never let Him leave us because of our sin. We must always repent of our sin and approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We must keep our whole selves clean and spotless – our mind, soul and body. If we stay near Our God, He will give us all the grace that we need to be pure and clean.

We must call out to His Holy spirit and His spirit will come and make us new. Christ Jesus is our friend. He calls us His friend. How privileged we are to be friends with a God who created this whole wide world. Who created the stars and the planets – who created mankind – you and me and put within us a soul where He dwells. We are the temples of the Holy Spirit, so as we walk the streets, the shopping Malls, the market places, to our work places, among our communities, let us take Christ Jesus with us. We are walking tabernacles.  He will transform those around us and those whom we meet. We must believe! Only faith can make us new.

Let us sing and be happy that we are friends of God and let us be aware that He calls us friends. My dear friends put on some spiritual music – sing and dance to this music and cry out to the Lord and thank Him for being our friend and for calling us His friends. We will always be His friend, so do not doubt in His love and in His friendship.

When we love someone or when we see our children, we see the greatness of God in them. So we must realise that God loves each one of us and He sees greatness in each one of us. The word of God says that Perfect fear casts out all fear. So my dear people, be strong and believe in Christ Jesus because He is our friend and He believes in us. There is victory in Christ Jesus because He was victorious when He rose from the dead.

I would also like to remind each one of you that we have been anointed at our Baptism and we belong to Him. We have been anointed to do good. We must be a blessing to our families, our neighbours, our parish and all those around us. We must give those whom we meet a smile which would transform their lives. Christ would reach out to those we smile at and He would bless them and bring Joy into their lives.

I would like to end with this statement – GOD IS OUR FRIEND AND HE CALLS US HIS FRIENDS. So, my dear people. Be happy and joyous, for happiness and joy is contagious. Let us be Contagious People for Christ Jesus! God is our friend. God calls us His friends, so let us be friends to those who have no friends! God bless you and May you be a blessing to others!

The Catholic Mass (1) by Florence D’Costa

The Mass is the pinnacle of prayer.  Mass is a Celebration where we celebrate Christ.   Christ Jesus died only once on Calvary.  At every Mass we go into time and we are present at Calvary.  We are there when Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was betrayed, tormented, tortured and crucified.  He died for you and for me.  He died for the whole world and for all people.  If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, then Salvation is ours for free.  The Mass is a powerful weapon against Satan and his wiles.    The whole of heaven is present during Mass with all the angels and saints.  At Mass, there are readings and the gospel – The Liturgy of the Word.  We have the prayers of the faithful.  At the Offertory, the priest offers the whole congregation to God – as we are, including our sinfulness.  Liturgy of the Eucharist – When we receive Jesus Christ in Holy Communion, God, the Father, blesses us and a lot of graces is given to us so that we can continue to live for Christ and for what He stands for.  At Holy Communion, we receive Jesus Christ Himself.  Let us pray that Christ whom we receive in Holy Communion will make us a new creation and will make us more and more like Him.  I will continue to write about the Mass as and when I feel prompted by the Holy Spirit.

Yes, I will be still and Know that you are God!

Yes, I will be STILL and KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOD!   Yes, Lord Jesus Christ when our lives are full of turmoils and when we are tossed about with problems, we will be still and in our stillness, we will find you.  For in you there is comfort, peace and joy.  During this Lenten season help us Lord to look inward and to journey with you and with others who need us.  We LOVE YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST!  FOR WITHOUT YOU, THERE IS NO LIFE IN US.

Yes, Lord, remember Your People!

Yes, Lord, we your people surrender ourselves to you.  We surrender all that we have and all that we are.   We come to you O Lord in our nothingness and we know and believe Lord that you are our everything and with you all things are possible.  We come to you Lord for your Love and Protection.  Without You we are nothing.  We give you all our plans.  If it is your Holy Will, then you help us to accomplish our plans because you are very much in our plan.  Whatever, we plan O Lord, we only do it to promote you and to make you known and loved by all. We Love You O Lord with every fibre of our being.  Thank Lord Jesus Christ for loving us.

Raise Jesus High for the World to See!

Yes, raise Jesus High for the world to see.  When we exalt Christ and put Him high on a pedestal, all eyes would be on Him because he would be there for all to see.  Some would look upon him out of curiosity, some with indifference, some may not even behold his face but there are many who would see him, would love him and many would go out to him for healing, comfort, restoration and many would be saved.   We, the baptised have received a MISSION when we became the Children of God.  So, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus – Lift Jesus Christ High for the world to see and more importantly let us remember that there was a time that someone in our lives did lift Jesus Christ high so that we were able to see Him so closely that He drew us unto Himself.  Amen! and Amen!

Doing God’s Holy Will

Not very many people know how important it is to believe in God and further more how important it is to do what He wants us to do.  Well, let us pray for people to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit.  This is an old video of mine but the Holy Spirit is prompting me to present this video once again.  All I am being is OBEDIENT.
