Trust in God with all your heart by Florence D’Costa

Proverbs 3:5 ❥
I know that some of us at times feel doubtful if we are loved and cared for by God.  When we look around us and we see that other people have much more than we have and we feel quite let down by God.  Through experience, I would like to share with you today that what you have is what God has given you and it is best to trust Him because He is able to see around the bend and we cannot.  God has our best interests in mind – So pray more, meaning coming into God’s presence and have a chat with Him.  Tell him your problems, your worries and if you have any anxieties, just share this with him and wait upon the Lord, for He will surely answer you.  He works when you TRUST IN HIM.  Yes, we are not able to understand God’s ways but as the word of God says – let us not lean on our own understanding.  When we trust in God, we allow Him to perform miracles in our

Romans 8:28 God works for the good of those who Love Him

Now, we all know that we all need to follow God’s Holy Will.  His plan is the best for each one of us.  Some of us walk in paths that God does not approve but we want to do what we want.  But when we do our will, eventually we will find out that our plan and our will, leads us along the wrong path because it is not what God wants of us.  So it is important for us to surrender our lives and our will to the Living God.  Then, we become wise for we begin to understand and accept God’s plan for our lives.  We understand that in all things, God works for the good of those who Love him, who have been called according to His Purpose.

In other words, God has created each one of us to do what He wants us to do in this world.  And when we follow his plans, He works all things for our good.  I remember there was a time when I wanted what I wanted and I went after the things that I thought I needed but I failed and kept on failing until I realised that it was fruitless doing my own thing and then I began to studies in scripture and I learned that we were created to give God all the Glory and not search for Glory for ourselves.  The Bible became my source of strength and I studied and gained more knowledge about God.   I began to trust God above all things and began to trust Him above all else.  Then I surrendered my life to His Holy Will.  It was then that I was picked up and carried into the arms of my Heavenly Father and I never regretted the decision I made on that day.  Till date, I just surrender my every day to Him and He plans my day and my life which gives me the greatest joy and peace that I have ever experienced and enjoyed in my life.

My dear brothers and sisters, if we surrender our lives to God, He will in all things work for our good and who have been called to His Purpose.

This is what God did to my plans and at that time I did not understand.  I was upset with Him but gradually I realised that it was best to surrender to this Great Big God of Ours and to surrender to His plans.  When Our Wants are not His Plan, then it is best to surrender Our Wants and take on His Purpose.  Then You and I will experience the great peace and Joy on earth.

Matthew 14:22-33 (Gospel 13/8/2017) by Florence D’Costa

Let us pray for an increase of Faith because if we truly believe in Christ Jesus, we will NOT BE AFRAID because we know that He will be with us in every situation, especially when it is difficult. Let us pray to Apostle Thomas to intercede on our behalf for Christ Jesus to increase our faith and believe me your prayer will be answered.

Peace is flowing like a River

Yes, Peace is flowing like a river, setting all the captives free. When we are peace with the Lord and we are basking
in God’s Glory, let us remember those who are disturbed, unhappy and who have lost all hope.

It is important for us to remember that what we receive freely, freely we must give to others. Every individual in life’s journey experience or have desert experiences. Either we feel that the absence of God in our lives, or we feel that He is silent or that He has abandoned us.

I have something important that I would like to share with you. Remember that Christ lives in us and we live in Him, so where is the question of Him being absent or silent in our lives. It is important for us to remember that He is near to us and in the silence, let us listen to His heartbeat. His heartbeat would tell us that He is near and that His peace is flowing like a river.

Christ is calling us to have faith, to have patience and more importantly to believe that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God is our Father and Jesus Christ is His Son and we are all brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. Will a Father desert his son. Will a mother desert her baby, Yes, even if they desert, God will not abandon His children. He never does. In a family, we are sometimes silent. Does that mean that we do not love our family members. No. In like manner, if God is silent at times, just remember that He is holding you in His arms. At this time, it is important to listen to His Heartbeat and believe me, you will experience something awesome and wonderful. Silence is sometimes important………

Now, for those of us who are experiencing His nearness, we should then be agents of His Peace. We should share the Peace that is with us and allow that peace to flow out to others, to those around us, so that they would not feel abandoned or lonely but would feel the Peace of Christ in their hearts.

So my brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus, be His Agents of Peace – Take Christ’s peace to those who are struggling to find Peace.

Afraid of Persecution?

Are you Baptised and Confirmed in the Catholic Faith/Christian Faith?  Do you have a desire to proclaim the Joy of the Gospel?  Are there hurdles in your path?  Have you come across various types of persecution in your life and has this stopped you dead in your tracks?  Are you afraid or timid and you do not want to proceed any further? Well, don’t you know that you are failing in your duty as a Christian?  We follow Jesus Christ and He died for us.  We are all called to be like our Master.  We are all called to die for Christ, for our faith and for one another.

I will give you a few scripture quotes on persecution :

2 Timothy 3:12  “Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

Matthew 5:44. “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Acts 14:21-22. “When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”

I would like to share something of Stephen’s Martyrdom : Acts 7:54-60; 8:3.

1.   What was Stephen doing that angered the Jewish Leaders.  He was spreading the Word of God, and the number of disciples increased greatly and even many priests accepted the Faith.  Some persons who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called) from Cyrene, Alexandria, and others from Cilicia and Asia, came forward and argued with Stephen but they could not match his wisdom, so they bribed a few men to accuse him stating that he did blaspheme against Moses and against God.  They then stirred the people, the elders and the teachers of the Law and they brought him before the Sanhedrin.  He spoke in wisdom and in truth but they became angry.  V.55 “Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into Heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus at God’s right hand, 56 “Look!” He said, “I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”  But they rushed upon him, seized him, took him outside the city and stoned him. 59″As they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

I have noted the following :

1.    Stephen was chosen and he was prayed over by the Apostles.

2.    He was a man full of the Holy Spirit and he was filled with wisdom.

3.    God revealed Himself to him – When he was about to be seized by the angry men, he gazed into Heaven and he was favoured by God, for God revealed Himself to him. Stephen saw the Heavens open and he saw Jesus Christ standing at the right hand of God.  What do you think the mood was in Heaven.  Jesus Christ was sad that Stephen (His man) was about to be stoned and killed.  So God showed Himself to Stephen so that Stephen would sleep happily.  God gave Stephen the grace to speak up for God and for Jesus Christ before the Sanhedrin with NO FEAR.  Stephen had a taste of Heaven before he entered Heaven.  In my earlier article I wrote that it is better to go to Heaven without any limbs rather than for our entire bodies to be thrown into hell.

4.     Stephen had the FAITH that Jesus Christ would receive him when he stands at the Gates of Heaven, when he prayed in verse 59, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

5.    HE FORGAVE THEM just like JESUS CHRIST did, when he said in a loud voice in verse 60, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”

6.     When we speak up for Jesus Christ,  we are openly doing battle with Satan and his dark angels and Satan becomes our adversary and he will furiously fight us.

So, when we are for Christ and for His Kingdom, we must bravely admit to our ourselves that WE HAVE OPENLY BEGUN OUR BATTLE AGAINST SATAN AND HIS KINGDOM.

So, my dear Readers, do you think that life would be easy for us.  No, we would have to be constantly vigilant.  We must forgive those who harm us and if we have knowingly or unknowingly harmed any body, we must ask pardon.  Forgiveness is they Key to our own happiness.

Ephesians 6:10-18.

10 Finally, be strong in The Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything. To stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteous in place. 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all The Lord’s people.
