Reaching out to Catholic/Christians Individuals/Families

A battle between Light and Darkness by Florence D’Costa

Christ is the Light of the World in this world of darkness! And we who follow Him walk in His Light. When we are in His Light, we have nothing to fear.  Darkness then becomes obsolete. Christ has banished the darkness and when we are in His Light, there is no darkness. Christ the Light of the World has conquered darkness and sin. It is vital for us to love the Light and to stay connected to Christ.  The moment we walk away from Christ and His Light, we will be engulfed in darkness and sin.  Only with God’s Grace can we be connected to the Light of Christ.  So, let us walk away from sin and darkness and stay connected to Christ,  it is as simple as this. We can stay connected to Christ by praying and being in God’s presence 24 x 7..

Happy New Year 2019!

I take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Happy New Year.  May we be kind and gentle to those we meet during this year! To those who are baptised, I would say “Happy New Year to the Temples of the Holy Spirit”.  The Holy Spirit dwells in each and every baptised, so let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER WITH THE LOVE OF CHIRST.

We all have family and friends whom we would be journeying with during this year, so let us make an extra effort to follow the Ten Commandments and more importantly to follow the two Commandments of Christ.  Matthew 22:37-40, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  So, Happy New Year and May Our Lord Jesus Christ bless us all in a very special way during this New Year!

Trust in God with all your heart by Florence D’Costa

Proverbs 3:5 ❥
I know that some of us at times feel doubtful if we are loved and cared for by God.  When we look around us and we see that other people have much more than we have and we feel quite let down by God.  Through experience, I would like to share with you today that what you have is what God has given you and it is best to trust Him because He is able to see around the bend and we cannot.  God has our best interests in mind – So pray more, meaning coming into God’s presence and have a chat with Him.  Tell him your problems, your worries and if you have any anxieties, just share this with him and wait upon the Lord, for He will surely answer you.  He works when you TRUST IN HIM.  Yes, we are not able to understand God’s ways but as the word of God says – let us not lean on our own understanding.  When we trust in God, we allow Him to perform miracles in our

First Reading – 1 Peter 4:7-13 1 June 2018

I personally feel this is a very powerful reading, so please read and meditate on God’s word and I am sure you will surely have a message from God which would encourage you and make you a better person with a purpose in life.

1 June, 2018 – Saint Justin Martyr
First reading 1 Peter 4:7-13 ©
Each of you has received a special grace
Everything will soon come to an end, so, to pray better, keep a calm and sober mind. Above all, never let your love for each other grow insincere, since love covers over many a sin. Welcome each other into your houses without grumbling. Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these different graces of God, put yourselves at the service of others. If you are a speaker, speak in words which seem to come from God; if you are a helper, help as though every action was done at God’s orders; so that in everything God may receive the glory, through Jesus Christ, since to him alone belong all glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.
My dear people, you must not think it unaccountable that you should be tested by fire. There is nothing extraordinary in what has happened to you. If you can have some share in the sufferings of Christ, be glad, because you will enjoy a much greater gladness when his glory is revealed.

The Catholic Mass (1) by Florence D’Costa

The Mass is the pinnacle of prayer.  Mass is a Celebration where we celebrate Christ.   Christ Jesus died only once on Calvary.  At every Mass we go into time and we are present at Calvary.  We are there when Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was betrayed, tormented, tortured and crucified.  He died for you and for me.  He died for the whole world and for all people.  If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, then Salvation is ours for free.  The Mass is a powerful weapon against Satan and his wiles.    The whole of heaven is present during Mass with all the angels and saints.  At Mass, there are readings and the gospel – The Liturgy of the Word.  We have the prayers of the faithful.  At the Offertory, the priest offers the whole congregation to God – as we are, including our sinfulness.  Liturgy of the Eucharist – When we receive Jesus Christ in Holy Communion, God, the Father, blesses us and a lot of graces is given to us so that we can continue to live for Christ and for what He stands for.  At Holy Communion, we receive Jesus Christ Himself.  Let us pray that Christ whom we receive in Holy Communion will make us a new creation and will make us more and more like Him.  I will continue to write about the Mass as and when I feel prompted by the Holy Spirit.

You Raise Me Up sung by Florence D’Costa

At my good friend, Naomi Heiden’s funeral which was today, the hymn YOU RAISE ME UP was sung by the Assistant priest of St Anthony’s Church, Noble Park, Vic. He played the guitar and sang. I felt quite stirred and hence, I am singing this song now.

Amazing Grace sung by Florence D’Costa

With the Holy Week approaching, I felt that it was good to say to ourselves that it was necessary for us to have Jesus come down and die for us, so that we could obtain Salvation and New Life and be saved from eternal damnation.

Lent by Florence D’Costa

During this period of Lent, let us be more inward looking as we journey with Jesus towards the Cross and Calvary. Let us pray to Christ to help us become better people so that we can help others to journey with Christ.  I will surely do another video soon.

Lights in this world of darkness by Florence D’Costa

Christ has commanded us to love God with our whole being and to love our neighbour like ourselves. This is not a request but a commandment. So let us reach out to people and to Christ to them. Sing-a-long with me – Christ be our light.
