Christ, Our Refuge by Florence D’Costa

The sweetest and safest place is to be with Christ and wisdom enlightens us to stay connected to Christ always. Come Holy Spirit Lord!

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Christ is like a magnet who draws us into His Most Sacred Heart, a place of Refuge. Let us stay safe in Christ and never part from Him. He will protect us from all harm and evil. We love you Lord Jesus Christ.

There is so much of sin in the world but God’s love and mercy outweighs sin. How? Because Our Lord Jesus Christ conquered sin and death on a Cross and was Victorious through His Glorious Resurrection. When, we think of the enormous sin in the world, it is really scary. But let not our hearts be troubled for Christ who conquered sin and death is journeying with us and we are conquerors through him. Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Now, as we journey through life, let us love one another and reach out to them in love and help them to rediscover Christ once again.

Psalm 23 – The Lord is my shepherd by Florence D’Costa

3rd May, 2020 – The Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Good Shepherd.  Jesus Christ is our Good Shepherd and he is taking care of his sheep, the faithful during this pandemic of COVID -19.  Shepherds are known to climb mountains and crags to save the lost sheep.  They do not give up until they find the lost sheep, bring them back home and then they would celebrate with friends and neighbours.  So Jesus Christ is expecting us all to be Good Shepherds to each other.  If someone is lost, let us help them find their way.  It is important that we befriend each other, our friends, the elderly, the vulnerable and our neighbours during this difficult time.  Yes, during this time of distancing and restrictions, we should find safe means of being useful.  Each one of us could help lighten somebody’s burden during this time.  Let us be creative and use safe methods, keeping in minds to follow restrictions set by the Government.  It is also important to pray for our priests.

Surrender yourself totally and completely to God by Florence D’Costa

Total surrender to God is extremely difficult. if anyone wants to reach the heart of God to know His innermost secrets and to have an intimate relationship with Him, TOTAL SURRENDER IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT.

God said, “I know the plans I have for you, … plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). That’s what God says. He’s not here to condemn you. He’s here to bless you and love you and take you into His arms and say, “I forgive you. I’ll change your life. And when you die, you will go to Heaven.”

I would like to mention here that education does not take you near to the Heart of God.  No.  Total abandonment and I mean total abandonment.  There comes a time in everyone’s life when God calls us to suffering.  He invites us to join Him on the road to Calvary and many of us are like Simon.  When we are asked to help Jesus to carry his cross, we shy away.  But God Our Father loves us unconditionally and He constantly prods us along, allowing us to SUFFER.  Suffering is terrible.  An insignificant situation can become so magnified that increases our suffering and even if we want to escape suffering, we simply cannot.

But, believe me, when God decides that we have had enough, He will then create a situation or a moment of redemption or GRACE and in that moment, we will be able to surrender totally and completely to Him without holding anything back. For instance, when I surrendered to Him, I said, “Lord, I surrender myself to you totally and completely because I have had enough.  Now, I know that YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE I NEED.  I WANT TO BE IN YOUR PRESENCE ALL THE TIME.  ONLY THY WILL BE DONE IN MY LIFE.  YOUR WILL I NOW KNOW IS PERFECT.  TAKE ME AND DO WITH ME WHAT THOU WILT.

As I was surrendering, just for a split second, I was wondering if I did the right thing. This thought quickly raced through my mind. “What will God do to me now? Will he increase my suffering, now that I have surrendered totally and completely to Him?  But in that moment, I felt this huge figure of a Heavenly Father, bend down and pick me up. He then held me in His arms and I felt the Great Love of My Father in Heaven.  I have never in all my life tasted such sweet love and I felt so robbed of this great tender love of my God.  I then said to the Lord, “Why have you left it for so late to show me such great love and My God answered me, I was waiting for you to totally surrender to me.  My dear brothers and sister in Christ, pray and ask the Lord to give you a moment of Mercy and Grace and you can be sure that God will swoop you in His arms and you will taste the most sweetest and purest love that you can ever experience in this life and a New Chapter will begin for you, like the way it began for me.  Life has never been the same for me.  I have always felt God’s Presence and guidance in my life ever since that wonderful moment that happened to me in my life, many, many, many years ago.  My dear brothers and sister in Christ, pray and ask God to help you to totally surrender to Him.  YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT BUT YOU WILL SAVOUR EVERY MOMENT OF HIS LOVE , TENDERNESS AND HIS GUIDANCE.  GOD IS OUR FATHER AND HE IS WAITING FOR US TO RETURN TO HIM AND SAY, YES, LORD, DO WITH ME WHAT THOU WILL.

God said, “I know the plans I have for you, … plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). That’s what God says. He’s not here to condemn us but to prosper us.

Homes called Domestic Churches! Why? By Florence D’Costa

Some faithful or some people would be wondering as to why should our homes be called Domestic Churches.  From good and holy homes we get good/holy priests, good/holy doctors, good/holy lawyers/judges, good/holy scientists, good/holy politicians.  These will hear the voice of God and will be OBEDIENT TO GOD.  Everyone and everything that comes out of a good home will be good and holy.  That is why God is very keen for us to convert our homes into Domestic Churches.  He wants to dwell in our homes.  He is the Prince of Peace and he wants to reign in our hearts and homes.  He wants to help us and guide us. He wants to be Our God, not only in Church but in our homes as well.  If all the faithful brought up their children to make God No.1 in their lives, what a wonderful place would our world be and how pleased would God be with His people.  God is calling us to be saints.

Some saints who came from families :
