Lent 2016 – The Stations of the Cross

During this Lenten Season, I was not feeling quite well.  What I have discovered is, for one to pray deeply, to get into the presence of God, one needs a lot of energy.  So, when I am feeling a bit weak, I avoid praying the Stations of the Cross.  For me to pray the Stations of the Cross is to go into time.  It is to be present during the actual crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  It is to really and truly be with Jesus as he journeys towards his death.  It is a very emotional experience and when I am feeling a bit weak, I simply cannot pray the Stations of the Cross.

What is prayer?  Prayer is communicating with God.  Is coming into his presence.  So when I pray the Stations of the Cross, I come into his presence, into his suffering and it really exhausts me.

So my dear brothers and sisters, what I am trying to say to you is whenever you pray, whatever be the prayer, go into the PRESENCE OF GOD for it is very real.  If you have enough energy to say a small prayer, then say it as if you were in the PRESENCE OF GOD.  True prayer is being transported into the real PRESENCE OF GOD.  Many people keep rambling on and on.  They just pray with their lips.  God is calling us to pray with our heart and with all our strength.

I am going to pray the Stations of the Cross this Good Friday and I will put all my energy into journeying with Jesus to Calvary.  I know that it will be exhausting but it will be rewarding.  For whenever, I come into the PRESENCE OF GOD which ofcourse is everyday, I receive tremendous blessings.

So my dear brothers and sisters, let us JOURNEY WITH JESUS to CALVARY THIS GOOD FRIDAY.
