Reaching out to Catholic/Christians Individuals/Families

Abortion is Evil – A Baby named Jesus was born in a Stable 2000 Years Ago. During this Advent Season, let us Welcome Him by Singing : Maranatha! Maranatha! Come Lord, Jesus, Come!

ABORTION : You might ask me why is Abortion Evil? Well, God gives life and no man has a right to take that life away. Every life is special and has a right to live and give God all the Glory. The moment a baby is conceived in the womb, it is a living being. To terminate a pregnancy even at the very beginning is a crime in the eyes of God and the Catholic Church. When a child is conceived in the womb, immediately in Heaven a plan for this baby is created. When that baby is aborted, God’s plan is ABORTED because man decided to terminate the baby’s life. In other words man took the place of God and made an Executive Decision to abort a baby whom God created for a particular purpose.

When a mother aborts her baby for whatever reason, she would eventually feels a void within her. She would at some stage or the other feel guilt, regret, sorrow, anger and other emotions. It is very important for a woman who has aborted her baby or babies to approach the Sacrament of Confession or Reconciliation with true sorrow. It is also necessary for the woman to believe that once she has confessed her sin, Christ Jesus in His mercy would have forgiven her totally and completely. But if she still feels guilty or depressed, then it is best for her to see a Professional Counsellor or she could talk to a priest whom she trusts or she could talk to a Charismatic priest.

2000 Years Christ Jesus was born in a stable as a Baby, the Saviour of the World. God made his first promise of a Savior in Genesis-Today we will see how, on the day that Adam and Eve sinned, God began to make known His wonderful plan in Chapter 3:15: God said to Satan who was in the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
‘I will put enemity between you(Satan) and the Woman (Mary who would be the Mother of Christ Jesus), between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, meaning Jesus Christ would die on the Cross and thus crush the head of satan and defeat him and Satan would strike his heel, meaning Jesus Christ would willingly die on the Cross.

This is the first time in the Bible where God promises a Redeemer for the whole world.

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her. Luke 1; 26-38 (RSV)

Yesterday, I heard a priest state in his homily : “We cannot separate the Baby from the Cross.” What he meant by this was Jesus was born into this world for a purpose and the purpose was that he was to die on the cross and save the World from Sin.

Yes, we will be celebrating Christmas on 25th December, 2011. This would be a time of Joy for all Christians all around the world, because a Saviour is born to us, who will redeem us from sin.

This baby’s life was in danger. King Herold sought to kill him but the Three Kings took a different route back home after visiting Baby Jesus in his manger. King Herod was upset and he gave orders for all male babies two years and under to be killed and there was a great massacre of children.

The child Jesus was saved from being killed as God sent an angel in Joseph’s dream in Mt 2:13 “Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”

Thus Jesus was saved from being killed. The reason why I wrote about ABORTION and the about the BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST in this article is to show you that Jesus was born with a purpose and the purpose was to live among men and teach men the ways of God and how to live a happy life being obedient to God, Our Father and Creator and ofcourse to eventually die on the Cross and bring Salvation to all mankind.

Just like Jesus, each baby that is conceived in the womb of women has a purpose to fulfill during its life on earth – living according to the Will of Our Heavenly Father. That purpose is defeated when the baby/babies are aborted when they still in the womb.

I would like to conclude here that there is no difference between killing the baby in the womb and killing a baby after it is born. When a baby is killed after it is born, it then becomes a crime in this world. When a baby in the womb is aborted, the Catholic Churchs considers this to be a crime and so do I because God gives life which is a gift and only God can take away life (the gift).

So, let us pray that people would value and appreciate every life (babies being conceived in the womb) and would not take authority into their hands and have these babies aborted.

Let us also pray during this Advent Season and ask the Lord to fill our hearts, our homes, our parish communities, our neighbourhood, our state, our country and the whole world with LOVE, JOY AND PEACE as we await the Coming of Baby Jesus!

Let these words be on our lips: ‘Maranatha! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus, Come!
