The Importance of “Forgiveness”

For those of us who have been hurt or wounded by anybody or whom we have hurt or wounded, in any way, we need to forgive and be forgiven in order to attain peace and serenity in our hearts and thus allow Our Lord Jesus Christ to live and reign in our hearts and lives.

Let us meditate on the following scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to take us deep into these Scriptural verses and to speak to us on forgiveness. After we read each verse, we close our eyes and we must allow ourselves to be still. The Holy Spirit would take us deep into the Word and will change our minds and hearts.

I quote below a few scriptures on “Forgiveness”:

Matthew 5:24
Leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

Matthew 26:28
This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Luke 23:34
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a] sin.
